Poland - Great For a Sailing Charter

The most popular yachting district in Poland is the Masurian Lakes District in the north-eastern parts of the country, which boasts thousands of lakes and is supported by a network of yacht harbors and yachting facilities. It is famous for its unspoiled beauty and natural wildlife. Sailing the coast along the Baltic Sea offers long-term potential as the marina network expands and gives a chance to reach the waters of Sweden and Denmark.

Poland, which was once ruled by a communist government, is a beautiful country situated in Central Europe. Despite of its gloomy history, Poland is a haven filled with gorgeous lands and waters. There are many visitors that prefer sailing in Poland because of the country’s various spits, lakes, and seas. You can also experience one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world when you are in the country. On these shores, you can anchor your yacht and add a moment of stillness in your holiday.

Thus, it filled Germany with monuments to the stories of our grandfathers about times long past but never forgotten.

1.) Berlin Wall

There’s no other place in Germany that’s more suffused with charged up emotions than the Berlin Wall. You can just imagine the tears and the blood shed over this very wall. This remnant of the wars stands as one of the greatest monuments to democracy known to man - a sign that freedom will always come out victorious.

Tourist Attractions in Sweden - A Personal Top-10

Sweden is one of Europe’s best kept secrets. The country has so much to offer. Besides, it’s very affordable nowadays and the climate is much better than most people think.

Just to give you an idea what to see I made a top-10 of tourist attractions in Sweden. Here they are - in no particular order.

Stockholm

Stockholm has it all: unique location, great architecture, historical sights, famous museums, huge parks, a vibrant nightlife, trendy shops – and an archipelago of 24,000 islands just around the corner. It’s a remarkably clean and safe city as well. If you haven’t seen Stockholm, you haven’t seen Sweden.

Gotland

Speaking of tourist attractions in Sweden, one wouldn’t expect to think of beaches. But there are beaches in Sweden. Some of the best are found on the Baltic island of Gotland, which is popular among Swedes and attracts thousands of visitors every summer. The walled medieval town of Visby is an attraction on its own.

Lake Siljan

Found in the heart of Dalarna, central Sweden, this lake is the center of folklore and tradition. Dalarna is a popular holiday destination in summer. Thousands of Swedes visit Leksand every year to see the midsummer pole set up. The nearby town of Rättvik is famous for its folk dancing. Also worth a visit is the bear park in Orsa.

Alternative Greek Travel Destinations

Greece can satisfy even the most demanding of its visitors. It has beautiful scenery and great man made establishments, it has sea but also mountains, it has archaeological sites and night clubs as well, it has crowded areas but it also has nice and quite places. The best of all is that all these are not far away from each other. I don’t think its an overstatement to say that Greece is a traveler’s paradise.

Where can you find such places.

If you want to find fancy restaurants and Hotels and all the comforts a man can get those are the services every known place has and they are actually difficult to miss. Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, Corfu, Crete, Athens, Thessaloniki, Samos are among the most visited destinations in Greece. If you need luxurious accommodations, fancy restaurants, loud music, packed cafes, lots of visitors you can find them here.

Places that are not crowded but still have lot to offer are more difficult to find. There are less services and less money to be gained from visitors and therefore are not heavily promoted. If you are looking for those places don’t ask at your local travel agent. Don’t arrange a Cruise hoping to find them. The are usually very close to the crowded centers but not much is mentioned of them.

Flights to Galway - Fly Into the West of Ireland!

Galway airport was officially opened in 1987 and this year (2008), it celebrates its 21st Birthday. In the last 21 years it has serviced the West of Ireland very well and has doubled its number of passengers. On the 8th of October last year Galway Airport welcomed customer number ‘2 million’ to its terminal. At the moment Aer Arann is Galway Airport’s only airline.

Unfortunately there’s very little public transport available to and from Galway Airport with just a bus service operating once a day from the city centre. There is however an excellent taxi available at the airport.

A very large number of Irish, British and European destinations are serviced by Galway Airport. New destinations were announced this year in January for the following locations; Amsterdam - Schiphol, Bordeaux, Malaga and Faro. Galway Airport provides the business traveller and community with very important access to “Hub” airports including Dublin, Manchester, London Luton and the latest, Amsterdam Schiphol. Galway Airport also provides a daily and weekly schedule for locations in Ireland and the UK.

Galway Airport does not have the facilities or the runway to attract the larger aircrafts used by the many budget airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair. It has however recently acquired new routes from Aer Arann with very competitive rates.

Low Cost Travel to Malta

Good news for the holiday island of Malta has come in droves recently, following a period of decline in visitor numbers. Commenting upon the findings, a local travel guide says that while the spending per passenger while in Malta is small compared to holidaymakers, it’s an important contribution to the island’s economy.

‘The spend is estimated at around US $10,000,000. And while this represents an average of around $40 a passenger, and holidaymakers spend considerably more, an important factor is that over 80 per cent of passengers would consider stopping at Malta again, and potentially that’s a good number who would consider a land based holiday in the future.’

The good news for Malta doesn’t stop at increased numbers of cruise passengers, as low cost airlines have recently started flying to the island.

‘It’s been a while since we’ve been able to say this,’ comments YourMalta, ‘but there are exciting times ahead for the Malta holiday industry. As well as the good news on passenger numbers from cruise ships, low cost airlines have started flying in passengers and it should boost the number of new tourists quite significantly in 2007.’

Old Town San Diego

Old Town San Diego

The Old Town San Diego Park serves as a way to recreate
life in both the early American and early Mexican era
of 1821 - 1872. Perfectly situated in San Diego, the
park helps to recreate what was once San Diego. No
matter how you look at it, a trip to California isn’t
complete without a visit to the Old Town.

Around the five adobes of the main complex, there are
shops, a museum, and several restaurants. Around the
garden courtyard, the La Casa mansion helps to bring
back a taste of the Old Town. Just a short hop from
there, the museum is full of artifacts that help to
reflect on the life that was once the Old Town.

The Old Town also has a blacksmith shop, schoolhouse,
and several other historic buildings, including the
first newspaper office in San Diego. This is truly
a place to visit, especially for those who are wanting
to learn more about the history of San Diego.

The city of San Diego was the first Spanish settlement
in California. This occurred when a fort and mission
were established in 1769. Back in 1769, California
was just beginning to get established, therefore it
wasn’t near the state nor the size that it is today.

Guide to Portugal

Portugal, a country with a rich seafaring history, is located on the west coast of the Iberian Peninsula west of Spain.

Located in south-western Europe and looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, with several islands in the Atlantic Ocean (Azores, Madeira, and Savage), Portugal’s climate is affected by the land mass of the Iberian Peninsula while at the same time being a coastal country with weather influenced by the sea.

Guide to Portugal - Climate.

In the summer when the Azores high is established you can expect beautiful hot sunny days. During this period the coastal areas of Portugal are gently cooled by the Nortada - the Portuguese trade winds - these blow every afternoon.

Along the Algarve the coast is sheltered from north winds and has the higher summer temperatures preferred by the holiday makers.

Away from the sea Portugal’s interior can achieve very high, sometimes stifling, temperatures in the summer. Portuguese winters are very mild and pleasant without the hot weather many people find oppressive.
