South African Visas Required When Traveling Overseas

South African passport holders need a visa to enter the Schengen area of Europe. The countries of the Schengen territory are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

If you are visiting only one Schengen country, you must apply for a Schengen visa at that country’s embassy or consulate.

If you intend visiting several Schengen countries, you must apply for your Schengen visa at the embassy or consulate of the country where you will be spending the most time. For example, if you are visiting Germany for three days, France and the Netherlands for two days each, you would apply for your Schengen visa at the embassy or consulate of Germany.

If you are visiting several Schengen countries, but will not have a main destination, you must apply for your Schengen visa at the embassy or consulate of the first country you enter.

A Schengen visa is comparable to a multiple visa for all the above countries, and you need only one Schengen visa. There are several kinds of Schengen visas - a transit visa, a short-stay visa, a long-stay visa, an airport-transit visa and a group visa (only under some circumstances). The general cost of a Schengen visa (of any category) is l60 (R575).

Cyprus Boat Trips

Cyprus boat trips are a great way to see some of the fabulous coves and bays that would otherwise be totally inaccessible from the land. There are literally hundreds of beautiful beaches scattered along the coast of Cyprus. You can weigh anchor and spend hours swimming or snorkeling in the clear blue Mediterranean Ocean. The waters around this beautiful Island paradise stay warm enough for swimming right through to November due to the heat the water stores up during the hot summer months.

There are all kinds of Cyprus boat trips that sail out of the little harbors and fishing shelters dotted all along the coast. Whether your preference is for fishing or just a nice relaxing pleasure cruise there is a trip that’s just right for you. The fishing trips are many and varied from the chartering of a small private motor launch right up to the most professional and modern vessels that will take large fishing parties right out into deep water. The highlight of the sea fishing season is around about July when the tuna arrive off the coast of Cyprus. Be sure to book yourself a Cyprus boat trip that fishes tuna and you will see some real big fish(I know they only look small in the tins) making for some great sport. You could end up eating tuna for your whole holiday if you are lucky enough to land one of those monsters.

Sweden Weather - How Hot is it?

In Sweden, weather is a much talked about subject. That is how it usually is in many of the northern countries because the weather is often not very good, especially in winter. The country is long-shaped, roughly north to south, and because of this the weather can be very different at either end.

The Sweden weather you experience depends on where you are. It is actually possible to have snow in summer, but also sunbathe at midnight - all in the same country. The southernmost tip of the country is around 55 degrees latitude north and the northernmost tip around 69 degrees north, inside the Arctic Circle.

The Sweden weather in winter ranges from around -40 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees Celsius. In summer it tends to be from around 15 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius - sometimes even hotter.

January through to March is when snow can be expected, though in the far north this is more variable and less contained. It can rain at any time, and rather unfairly, it is the warmest months of July and August that gets the most rain.

Chimayo Grill In Newport Beach

Chimayo Grill In Newport Beach

If you happen to miss the big Wine Festival in May,
you shouldn’t worry as the area has a lot of fine
restaurants to keep you coming back for more. One
of the local favorites here, and a favorite for many
visitors is the Chimayo Grill.

The Chimayo Grill is located on Fashion Island, in
the chic shopping oasis. After a long day of
shopping, nothing beats going to the grill for lunch
or dinner. Starting with the legendary tequila
infusion is great, as it consists of fresh fruit
marinated in tequila. Although they taste light
and fruity, they are full of tequila and pack quite
a punch!

The grill is decorated in a Sante Fe style, being
casual, but yet unique. You simply can’t go wrong
here, as all of the food they serve is great. With
so much to choose from here, you may find that it
takes quite a few trips to sample everything they
have to offer.

England Does Exist Outside of London

So many travellers to England view London as being the hub of the country. While the capital certainly has a lot to offer visitors, it’s a shame to miss out on the other delights of England.

As you may already have gathered from reading the opening paragraph of this article, what follows might be looked upon by some as a plea for tourists to visit more of the country. Indeed, this is certainly the suggestion that is being proposed.

The reason for encouraging wider exploration is not just for the benefit of the local Tourist Boards - it’s because missing out on the rest of the country means missing out on so many great experiences.

Let’s begin with some simple facts that may come as a surprise. At the time of writing, the UK as a whole has 27 UNESCO World Heritage sites - just 4 of these are located in London. If you limit your visit to the capital then you are missing out on so much history and cultural diversity.

From Hadrian’s Wall (named after the Roman Emperor) in the north to the Jurassic coastline in the south, there is plenty to see in this varied country.

Overlooking Newport Beach

Overlooking Newport Beach

Throughout the vast state of California, Newport Beach
remains one of the most overlooked cities. The city
of Newport Beach is actually a very charming island,
with great beaches and a peninsula. With all of it’s
charms, it remains overlooked by tourists and those
looking for an ideal vacation spot.

Lying cradled within the Balboa Peninsula, the seven
islands that make up Newport Beach happen to have some
of the most expensive real estate in California. Many
of the homes here are 1.5 million and up! When you
consider that many are surrounded by small yacht harbors
and a peaceful yet tranquil environment, you know the
price of the homes are more than well worth it.

If you live in California, you can find Newport Beach just
off Pacific Coast Highway in beautiful Orange County. Simply
take CA 55 south from I-5 to Newport Blvd. Or, you can
also take CA 1 at Newport Blvd. After a short travel, the
Newport Blvd. will turn into Balboa Blvd. and eventually
take you down the middle of the island.
