What you take with you on holiday can make or break y our trip away, especially if you are traveling to a third world destination.   I have spent some time in the third world, Morocco and Nepal specifically, and I’ve found that if something breaks, you can’t get it fixed easily or even replaced.. so you really do need to think ahead and make sure that you have gear that is going to last the journey.  This includes all the items that I guess I’d consider “hardware”, like watches, knives etc.

I came across a great site called “Your Defense Gear” which stocks items you might expect to find available in the Military.  Great stuff, well tested and well priced.  Not the cheapest you might find in some discout store.. BUT when you are depending on your equiptment, you really need to know you can count on it to do it’s job.

Some of the items that caught my eye include hatch gloves.  I really wish I’d had a pair of these when I was crossing Thurong La pass in Nepal!  Great looking gloves for specific uses.  Some great for cold conditions, some for touring like motorcycle gloves (love to take a trip along the Amalfi Coast one day.)  All types, you name it!
