Work and travel..

A working holiday is one of the best ways to see the country.  Not only do you get to travel, you get to go for longer because you have some money coming in at the same time.  You also get the benefit of staying in one place for a bit longer than a tourist might, getting to meet the locals and even visiting some of those out of the way places and attractions that a whirlwind tour would miss.

If you are a nurse or other healthcare provider, check out nurse.tv.  If you are looking for a travel nursing agency that works harder for you, contact these folks to find out what a working holiday can do for you.  The site is really easy to navigate, just select where you would like to go and your specialties and the site will deliver a list of all the jobs available in that area.  Put the jobs in your “cart”, submit it and a recruiter will call you with the details of the assignments you have selected.

Being a travel nurse is a great idea for the more adventurous of us who want to get a bit more out of life than just the regular nine-to-five.  So, why not check out the site and give it a go!

And if you’re not a nurse, you can teach English all over the place! Many places need a BA but others don’t.

Working holidays were very popular with Aussies and NZ in the 80’s and 90’s. You couldn’t go into a pub in Earls Court or Chelsea and not get served by one.

I think sadly this practice will fall away as more and more countries enforce no work clauses on entry visitor visa’s.

Ok it may suit if you have a skill pertaining to a need which that country needs but if you don’t then tough.

I agree, that’s a great way to see the world! My friend works as a tourist guide. I don’t have the skills to do the same, but maybe I could learn something that would go well with traveling around the world. Thanks for the tip!

(I think I just posted in the wrong article, please delete the other one)WOW!! I never know there is a job like this!?? travel nurse? I really should consider this job as my next job since I don’t like regular and boring job, but is that okay since I don’t have any experience in nursing? thanks for sharing.

I agree working while getting to experience a new part of the world is great. It isn’t the easiest thing to do for many people though. My father is lucky to be a consultant and has the ability to decide, for example, he would like to go to Spain and arrange to consult for someone there. A very nice if you can get it. But it isn’t easy.
