Are you into walking?
If you are, you would know the benefits of comfortable shoes. I went on a 12km hike just last week, and I have to say that the shoes I wore used to be comfortable.. but no more! Pregnancy changes the shape of your feet and mine certainly aren’t what they were. Good walking shoes are a must.. you really do have your whole body balancing on your feet, making sure they are right can get out out of the horrid blisters I had when I got back home!
Many people don’t recognise the value of comfortable dress shoes either. These are just as important, or even more so because you spend som much of your life in them, especially if you work and wear the same style of day day in and day out to the office. Getting yourself a great pair or two of comfort shoes really is a must, especially as you get older!
The walking company (thewalkingcompany.com) stocks a huge range of shoes that will fit your needs. Check the site out for great casual walking shoes.. these are particularly good for travellers and those on vacation. Many are good looking enough to pass for dress shoes when you go out as well, making it easy to cut down on your luggage.
They have a good range for women as well as men, and you will find that with the shipping free for orders over $100, the prices are definitely reasonable as well! At the moment, they have a big spring sale too, making it easy for you to pick up a summer sandal bargain in time for your summer vacation. With brands like Think! Mephisto and birkenstock, theey really do have you covered for all of your walking shoes needs.
With the great specials on at the moment (some up to %25 off retail!) you really can’t go wrong when you order through their online store.

This post is invaluable, as a marathon runner, i learned this truth a long time ago. Spending an extra 1-200 dollars on the right shoes can save you tens of thousands in medical bills and pain in the long run!

You must look after your feet and buy the best you can afford, a good pair of walking boots can make the difference in whether you enjoy a trip or not. Watch out for those blisters and choose wisely.
If you are considering something like the Nijmegan march (google it)40Kms a day for 4 days, then soak your feet in surgical spirit for a couple of weeks before hand, it hardens up the skin and prevents blisters.
Finally if you choose to walk in the Mountains make sure you have a very good map and tell someone where you are going and the time you are expected back.
