Are you into walking?

If you are, you would know the benefits of comfortable shoes.  I went on a 12km hike just last week, and I have to say that the shoes I wore used to be comfortable.. but no more!  Pregnancy changes the shape of your feet and mine certainly aren’t what they were.  Good walking shoes are a must.. you really do have your whole body balancing on your feet, making sure they are right can get out out of the horrid blisters I had when I got back home!

Many people don’t recognise the value of comfortable dress shoes either.  These are just as important, or even more so because you spend som much of your life in them, especially if you work and wear the same style of day day in and day out to the office.  Getting yourself a great pair or two of comfort shoes really is a must, especially as you get older!

The walking company (thewalkingcompany.com) stocks a huge range of shoes that will fit your needs.  Check the site out for great casual walking shoes.. these are particularly good for travellers and those on vacation.  Many are good looking enough to pass for dress shoes when you go out as well, making it easy to cut down on your luggage.

Hawaiian Travel Tips - 5 Most Important

travel tips

Dwayne Goerges our expert of the day, writes:

Whether you are going on a family vacation, a spring break vacation with college friends, or even your honeymoon, Hawaii is a great place to visit at any time of year. While Hawaii is a great travel destination, you may want to know a bit about this place before you land. The following are some important tips that can help you have a great time while you are in Hawaii.

Tip #1 - No Touching a Nene - A Nene is the Hawaii state bird, and while they may look cute, they can be very defensive, especially if they have babies. These birds are also endangered species, so even if they look cute, touching or even approaching these birds are against the law. Be sure to keep this in mind when traveling to Hawaii or you may end up with a hefty fine.

Adventure Travel Tips, Deals, And Destinations

Frank Johnson our expert of the day, writes:

For some people, taking city tours, visiting breweries, and lying out on the beach just isn’t enough. These tourists want a trip filled with adventure; one that’s off the beaten path. Adventure travel is a specialized type of travel that isn’t filled with the typical tour buses and bed-and-breakfasts. Adventure travel engulfs a more exploratory sense of the word “travel”. Adventure travelers would rather hike up a mountain, trek through a jungle, or ride white water rapids than sit in an air conditioned bus and be chauffeured from place to place.

However, although adventure travelers don’t partake in all-inclusive resort stays, adventure travel can still be quite expensive. That’s because the destinations adventure travelers travel to (and the activities they do) often require special guides, groups, and sometimes equipment.

Been to Rocky Point?

Rocky point, located in Puerto Penasco Mexico, is an unmissable holiday destination.  As Arizona’s closest beach resort, it is one of those hidden gems just waiting to be discovered by the inventive traveler.  Rocky Point Mexico is an American name for the town of Puerto Peñasco, in the state of Sonora, Mexico.
There is so much to do inthe area, you will be really overwhelmed for choice.

The RockyPointOnline.com site has a calendar of events that is regularly updated, so you can plant your trip around an event that takes your fancy, or alternatively, you can simply check out what is going to be happening int he area when you get there.  The calendar is a godsend in planning your trip to this fantastic and diverse area.  With cultural events like the “Day of the Dead” offset with fun ones like a bathtub race, there will be something for everyone listed on the site.  Regular activities such as fishing, jetskiing, cruises, ultralight flights and of course whale and dolphin watching round out a great holiday experience.

Best Travel Tip - Head South for the Best of the Canarian Sun

travel tips

Stewart Palmer our expert of the day, writes:

Europeans, especially Germans, Dutch, Scandinavians and the British tend to think of the Canary Islands as a winter sun resort. Of these, the British are probably the most likely to holiday in the Canaries during the summer.

In actual fact it makes little difference when you visit from the point of view of what weather to expect. The islands experience a fairly constant springtime climate all the year round. However, my Canary Island travel tip is to always bear in mind that all of the islands are cloudier and wetter on their north coasts or in their more northerly regions. This is where the moisture bearing trade winds make their initial contact with a land mass as they blow across the Atlantic ocean, often quite forcibly.
